Copyediting entails correcting spelling, grammatical, or factual errors; eliminating distractions caused by confusing or awkward phrasing; catching any errors or typos you may have missed; ensuring consistency of style and tone; handling all the nitty-gritty components around proper usage of the English language; and polishing language in a way that resonates with and draws in your audience. It requires a formidable grasp of the English language and intimate familiarity with all relevant style guides. It’s also my absolute favorite form of editing.
When you need a final pair of eyes to catch typos and errors before publication, I will make sure you’ve dotted all your i’s and crossed all your t’s and meticulously ensure your manuscript is free of any typographical or formatting errors, resulting in a finished product that looks impeccable.

I quickly develop a thorough understanding of your project to assist in creating content that perfectly and authentically embodies your voice. With dexterity in style that can be both narrative and technical, I help you tell your story evocatively, in a way that is compelling, succinct, and achieves the desired results, while skillfully fulfilling the technical requirements of your project.
As an editor, I endeavor to understand my clients and their projects on such a deep level that not only can I execute most rewrites for them myself, but I do so seamlessly, resulting in a piece that is gracefully coherent and polished to perfection.
Diversity editing (also known as cultural accuracy editing) entails vetting a manuscript for instances of bias in representation that might be considered harmful to traditionally marginalized groups.
I will review the entire manuscript and give feedback on any potential issues, affirm its strengths, and provide editorial suggestions on how to ensure your manuscript isn’t offensive, inaccurate, or perpetuating harmful stereotypes.
Diversity editing can be wide in scope or focus on a particular area of concern, and can be done at any stage of a manuscript’s development. As the writer, you always have the final say about what suggestions to accept.

My articles can be found in numerous magazines, I have written for television, and I am a frequent contributor to online mind-body-spirit publications.

From seed and concept to polished manuscript, I’m obsessed with creating a frictionless reading experience that ensures professionalism and credibility for writers, publishers, and clients.
I have a BA in English and am passionate about spirituality, self-help/personal development, memoir, social justice, business, and other nonfiction genres. Having done my graduate work in Social Justice, I can help writers employ conscious and inclusive language where requested.
When I’m not laser-focused on editing or writing, I coach people of all genders on the art of elevating their most meaningful relationships. I live in California’s fabled wine country with a real-life fairy-tale prince.
